Ilya and Janet Bantseev serve in Siberia where they pastor a church, run a Teen Challenge centre for recovering drug and alcohol addicts, and provide a place for orphans to live and learn when there is nowhere else to turn. The building where they have the orphanage has been provided to them to use for free.

A few years ago, God put it on their hearts to purchase the building that they had been provided for free use. However, the price was quite high and it simply wasn’t possible at the time. Two years later, after a great deal of prayer and fasting, the building was being put up for auction—at HALF the price it was posted at in their first attempt at purchase! Moreover, through generous donors choosing to give every day, God provided the funds needed to make the purchase!

Ilya and Janet report, “We’re very excited to share with you that this week we were able to finalize the purchase of the building for the Children’s Home! The building was originally given to us for free use, but the Lord allowed us to purchase it at the auction this week. We now will change the status of the building from a school to a residential building and start taking orphans in to live there permanently. We’re very grateful to God for all the prayers, construction teams and financial support that have made this dream come true!”

Now with the building purchased, renovations need to be done to bring the building up to code and for its intended usage as a live-in orphan home. Consider how you can give every day and partner with this orphanage in Siberia.

Then they had an encounter with Jesus that rocked their world and changed their lives and family.

Working as a traveling engineer, Scott and his family followed God around the United States. They lived in Michigan where they were introduced to the needs of caring for people’s basic needs, while sharing salvation with them—sharing life, then sharing Christ. In other cities they lived in, they would walk the city streets all day looking for people in need, praying for those who would accept it, and starting small weekly “church” gatherings right on the sidewalks. They “just loved.”

Eventually God led them to a certain church in a certain city where they met some Christ followers who introduced the Stewart’s to the idea of overseas missions, specifically to Malawi, the poorest nation in Africa. God made a way for them to go and just love those in the greatest need.

Two years later, they returned to Canada, but their desire and call to international missions did not fizzle. This time after days of intense prayer, God showed them the “green country” on their atlas, which turned out to be Thailand. So once again they have followed God’s leading. Because people chose to give every day, they were able to follow this leading.

In November 2011, Scott, Jodi, Jael, Janohah, Irish, and Dagny left on an airplane to Bangkok, Thailand, to work alongside Peter and Patricia DeWit, 20 year PAOC veterans in Bangkok. Having only been on the ground for a few hours, Scott and his son, Irish, were already walking down the flooded streets of Bangkok, buying toast from a woman on the street side, striking up a conversation in hopes of developing a relationship and eventually winning the opportunity to share Christ with her.

No matter how hard they try not to, the Stewart’s can’t help but Just Love. How can you help the Stewart’s show God’s love to those in Thailand who have never heard about it ever before?

The Philippines has an average of twenty typhoons every year, and through the months of September and October 2011, two typhoons in particular caused the northern province of Ifugao to grind to a halt. What is already a remote region became even more remote with landslides, and bridges being washed away due to the typhoons impact. This prevented essential needs such as food and fuel from getting to the community Noah’s Ark resides within. Truly Linda’s Ark is a safe haven in the midst of the storms.

Thankfully amidst the destruction from the storms, there is celebration to be had with the graduations of children from the home in elementary, high school, and college levels.

On average Noah’s Ark has around 45 children in the Home at one time. The children range in age from a few months to college students and some have special needs such as cerebral palsy. Donations to Noah’s Ark go towards food, clothing, health care and the education of the children. As you give every day, consider how you can help build an ark for children

A recognized leader in the community, John was blessed to be in the position he had. But he desired to have formal Bible college training.

Pan Africa Christian University in Nairobi, Kenya, one of our largest PAOC Bible colleges overseas, was the school of choice for John and his family. False Biblical teaching runs rampant throughout Kenya as untrained pastors plant churches without the proper theological training. PACU is there to provide the proper training for pastors, as well as business leaders and counsellors, amongst other streams.

John studied and successfully graduated from PACU, returning home to western Kenya with his family to continue on in pastoral leadership at their church, now with the proper theological training required to lead his flock towards God in passionate faith. Fast forward to today, and not only is he successfully leading his church, but he has founded and maintains a ministry in rural Kenya for orphans and widows, caring for those who no one else will care for (James 1:27)—pure and faultless religion at its finest.

The legacy that John is creating would not have been possible without the financial support from those who chose to give every day, and support the PACU scholarship fund. Education is not cheap. In Canada, if a student doesn’t have sufficient funds to pay fees, they take out a student or government loan to cover the cost. In Kenya, such an option simply isn’t possible. That’s why students like John turn to PACU requesting assistance with their fees through the scholarship fund.

There are many more pastors like John who need help getting a proper Bible college training in Kenya. How will you help?

In 1996, Michel & Louise Charbonneau, PAOC global workers, followed God’s leading to move to Haiti. They started a church for children and youth and have seen God bless their ministry to no end. Their average attendance in 2009 was 1,850 each week, with plans to build a worship centre and school for the kids they minister to alongside the Child Care Plus sponsorship and feeding program, reaching around 500 children.

Haiti School

Tragedy struck the capital of Haiti Port-au-Prince on January 12, 2010, levelling much of the city to a pile of rubble with a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. The Charbonneau’s lost many friends, members of their church, and even members of their staff. In the face of tragedy, God provided an opportunity to the Charbonneau’s to be His hands and feet to those who in a matter of seconds lost their livelihoods, homes, and loved ones.

Because of the incredible support provided by those who give every day, in response to the earthquake and the ministry the Charbonneau’s have always been a part of, they have seen their ministry centre built along with classrooms for a school, providing education to the many children without anywhere to go after the earthquake.

The number of young people who are being reached is growing and consequently so is the need for space! The Charbonneau’s have already built the ministry centre and are now looking at adding a second level to accommodate their young congregation. Consider how you can give every day and be a part of a better tomorrow for the children and youth of Haiti.

Each Sunday when we gather together in our churches, we likely don’t think about the freedom that we are gifted with having in a free nation. Ethiopia allows for freedom of religious expression—officially. This hasn’t hampered persecution against those professing faith in Christ. For many, choosing to accept Christian salvation leads to a life separated from their family, choosing Christ over their family religion.

Having the support from a group of fellow Christ followers, a church family, becomes all the more important to see the Gospel perpetuated under such cultural pressure. Brian and Val Rutten along with Jeremy and Teresa Feller, global workers to Ethiopia, are actively working with national leaders to provide a place followers of Christ can call home to be with Christian family, responding to the open doors God is providing, helping the church respond to what are becoming large numbers of new Christians.

In the last 15 years the church in Ethiopia has experienced explosive church growth after coming out from under communist rule. Though persecution remains a serious challenge, the church of Christ continues to push against the forces of darkness as the gospel continues to open new people groups and areas to the light of Christ. It is only through the generous financial support of donors that the Rutten’s and Feller’s have seen the success in planting churches that God has envisioned for this nation.

When you worship next Sunday morning without a worry, think about the persecuted church around the world; think about those in Ethiopia.

When a missionary family lives overseas, they have the same needs as we do in Canada: proper housing, proper transportation, and proper schooling for their children, for example. In particular, family’s would hesitate to follow God’s call to GO if there was any question of their children being able to receive a proper education.

The Missions and Kids (MAK) project gives opportunity to Give Every Day by giving towards the expenses incurred from going to school overseas, expenses that may be covered by our taxes in Canada, but aren’t covered in other countries.

Take a look at these two videos from Joseph and Joanna Bantseev, children of Ilya & Janet Bantseev ministering in Siberia.

Without those who chose to give, it would not be possible for these kids to get a proper education and begin to follow in the godly footsteps of their parents.

They do this through creative initiatives like the Pavilion, a large movie theatre which they renovated and transformed into a conference and worship centre. In this same building is a beautiful space with panoramic view of the city, global worker Wayne Hilsden has turned this space into a place of 24/7 intercession for the city of Jerusalem–a prayer tower.

Now King of Kings is looking to redeem their building beyond the Pavilion and into the complex where other shops lie. Directly across from the front doors are pornographic shops. Imagine, such places existing in the holy city, let alone at the very gates of our place of worship. The very presence of these shops can be a cause of stumbling and sin.

King of Kings is now working to “cleanse and restore” the gates of the Pavilion, calling all to a 40-day fast to see this need met. A donor who has chosen to give every day, has committed to match donations up to $250,000. Praise God!

To see how far King of Kings has come in terms of the worship centre and prayer tower, we can see how the practice of giving every day can have a real impact. Imagine how much greater that impact could be by choosing to give every day in your own way. Perhaps you would consider giving to this need for King of Kings.

The Father gave the Son
The Son gave the Spirit
The Spirit gives us life
So we can give the Gift of love
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on

Don’t you love to get a present wrapped up in a Christmas bow
God gave each of us a present on that night so long ago
It’s a Gift that keeps on giving if our spirits can receive
It’s the secret joy of living if our hearts can just believe

And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on and on and on
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on
And the Gift goes on and on and on

When your life is full of Christmas then your life is full of love
You can give away the present that began with God above
Just like ripples in the water the circles of our love extend
What was started with the Father is a Gift that has no end

Yet, the disillusionment which has followed in the wake of these years of violence has created an open door for the gospel and Stephen and Rebecca are committed to responding.

As Sri Lanka-born Canadians, the Kanagadas have a desire to see unreached areas of Sri Lanka and Tamil India touched and transformed with the gospel of Christ. They will be involved in planting churches for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Sri Lanka (PAOSL) in the north-eastern part of the country. They will also be involved in sharing God’s love with the Sri Lankan people through a variety of PAOSL ministries.

Stephen and Rebecca`s ministry will also help to create a bridge by which Tamil congregations in Canada will be enabled to partner with believers back home through the work of the PAOC.

“God has put an unquenchable fire in me to serve people who are in desperate need. The harvest is great, the time is now, and I hear the voice of God calling, ‘Who would go out on behalf of me?’”
-Stephen Kanagadas

Consider partnering with Stephen and Rebecca as we work and grow together as the body of Christ.
